Liability in VOF: Discover your rights

From 2010 to 2013 my friend was in a VOF as a self-employed person. At the end of 2013 he deregistered from this VOF. Now the company is not in a healthy state, to what extent are we liable if bankruptcy is filed? We own a house and is there a possibility that in the event of bankruptcy they will recover the debts from us and that we will have to sell our house, even though he, as a non-partner, no longer has any say in the affairs?

In a VOF your friend is also personally liable. The question now is: is there a residence or takeover clause included in the contract. If this is not included, the partnership was in fact terminated the moment your friend left.
