What happens to pension after the death of an ex-partner?

Questioner

my husband is 69 and has a good pension, which, after his death, will go for the most part to his ex-wife (divorced in 1989). There are 2 adult children from this marriage. Now I wonder what will happen to his pension after both he and his ex-wife have died. Thank you in advance for your response and kind regards,

Lawyer

I advise you to inquire about this with your husband's pension fund. I believe that the pension will then stop after the death of the ex-partner, because there will no longer be any benefit recipients.
