Reporting sick after cosmetic surgery? Legal advice

I took 2 weeks off because of a breast augmentation, I assumed I would be able to work again after 2 weeks. I didn't have any more days off. However, due to complications, I am unfortunately unable to return to work after these 2 weeks. Can I call in sick? Or am I not allowed to because it is a cosmetic procedure?

In the event that you feel physically or mentally unable to perform your duties, you can report sick. At any time (if things take longer than expected), the employer can have you called in by the occupational health physician. In that case, the physician will assess whether or not you can perform your duties. If the physician believes that you can and you refuse to return to work despite this, this can lead to a discussion and the employer can in principle suspend your salary.
