Liability for dog bite incident - Legal Aid
Questioner
Good morning Had a question last Thursday my dog was bitten by another dog, and first he said to the local police officer that he would pay and now he suddenly refuses to pay. The police that I called again because I had received a note through the door also referred me to you if you could do anything else in this situation. I have to call the local police officer again today to see how and what, but I wonder what else I can do. My dog has been to the vet and now because I was there in time there is no permanent damage to his eye. Kind regardsLawyer
You must hold the owner of the other dog liable by registered letter and demand that he compensates for the damage and costs. He is probably insured for this (a so-called third-party insurance) and must contact his insurer.Take the next step
