Liability for Dental Problems - Legal Aid
Questioner
I had a treatment at the dentist and then I received treatments with attached invoices that do not correspond with my treatments; I will be even clearer, I paid for treatments that I underwent and now I receive invoices for treatments that I did not undergo. I contacted my dental practice by e-mail and I received this e-mail from her: >>> I understand that you are a patient at the practice, but the treating dentist is always independently responsible for his actions, including the declaration of procedures. You also entered into the medical treatment agreement with the dentist and not with the practice. Other employees of the practice have no direct influence on this relationship between dentist and patient, so if the dentist notes that something has been done, this is also declared as such. If something subsequently turns out not to have gone well, it is up to the dentist to resolve this, possibly by delegating it to someone else. Since dentist xxxxx no longer works in our practice, but you still have a problem, I will try to solve this for you as quickly and as well as possible. Precisely because we as a practice want to maintain a good relationship with patients and I do not want to send you from pillar to post. I still expect a response from xxxservice within a short period of time. I trust that we will be able to proceed to handling this matter quickly, but unfortunately that will require some patience on your part. Yours sincerely. My question is who is liable for this? Do I have a relationship with the dentist himself or do I have a relationship with the dental practice?Lawyer
The question is who gave you the bill and who you have to pay. If you have to pay the dental practice then it is their problem because they can only send a bill for treatments that have been performed. They cannot hide behind the fact that the dentist is away.Questioner
I am very pleased with your response. Thank you.Questioner
Can I hire a lawyer for this because I am being kept on the line quite a bit. I initially paid invoices and later discovered that there were treatments that were not part of my treatments, and I reported to the debt collectors and bailiffs that something was wrong. Had to have it resolved through my dental practice, but from my feeling and their descriptions I can quickly see that they don't want to correct it. Can I expect compensation for this?Neem de volgende stap
