Dear, I am in negotiations with a printing company regarding our wedding cards. Now this printing company has made me pay a deposit of 100 euros for the proofs. (He wanted a guarantee that we would come back and otherwise he would have his money for the time he worked on the card). However, we were not allowed to take the proofs home and the proofs are not as we had discussed. In this case, the customer is not king because he indicated that he did not want to implement everything in response to our comments. Can we get our deposit back? Thank you in advance. Kind regards.

Day, if what you want is technically possible, the customer must be king and the printer is in breach of contract if he does not implement the wishes. Are they on paper?

Unfortunately the agreements were made verbally. I do have a receipt for my down payment.

Day, You may hold the printer to his obligations, you could consider putting him/her in default and give him/her the chance to do it right now, minus the payment for the proof, or to withdraw the order minus the payment for the proof. With a proof you want to see if your wishes come across well on paper and that is not possible now.
