Legal assistance with mortgages and living pleasure
Questioner
My ex-partner and I still own a house. I continued to live in it myself, but the mortgage on the house is still in 2 names. After 2 years it is still for sale. Can I still oblige my ex-partner to pay the mortgage, life insurance and homeowners' association jointly (50:50)? Ex-partner is now suddenly talking about the living pleasure she does not have. What does she mean by this? and can she claim anything by it?Lawyer
As long as you are both still owners and both still have the mortgage in your name, you are each still responsible for all costs. This may be different if you are divorced and an arrangement has been laid down in the divorce documents. If one of you only stays in the home, he or she has an advantage with regard to the living enjoyment. You can settle this with each other later, after an agreement about this. If you want, you can contact me about this.Neem de volgende stap
