Right to unemployment benefits after temporary contract?

Questioner

I worked from 2002 to 2011 as a 12-hour planner and 16-hour caregiver in a home care agency. I found the combination quite heavy. And due to a major event in my private life, I decided to continue working as a 15-hour planner in this home care organization from September 2011. I then started working even more as a 12-hour planner in a pilot in another organization. This job is ending on a contract basis and will not be extended, because the pilot is not running. My question is, am I still entitled to unemployment benefits for this 12-hour job that is ending? Thanks in advance for your response.

Yes, normally you are entitled to unemployment benefits because you become unemployed for more than 5 hours and you have worked for more than 26 weeks. However, a problem could arise if you had a permanent contract for the hours as a caregiver and you gave them up yourself in exchange for a fixed-term contract as a planner
