How Den Haag municipality regulates number of people who can be registered at the apartment?
I live in Den Haag with my wife and two kids. Since the beginning of the war me mother lives and is registered at our address.I'm moving to a new address . According to a new contract, only maximum 2 adults can live at the apartment (this was not explicitly mentioned in my current contract). I contacted landlord and the rental agency and according to them, the landlord does not mind my mother leaving with us for a few months. However, the contract had to be formulated as it was, because a) It is a standard form of the contract for such type of apartment and b) this is according to the regulations of Den Haag municipality.
I'm a bit worried that if I will register my mother on this new address, municipality will compare number of registered persons with what was stated in the contract and housing permit and render contract as invalid or there will be a penalty for the landlord. Is it really possible? I can send a copy of the contract if necessary.
I tried to discuss it with muncipality on two occasions. First time on Friday I was told that if the landlord does not mind, there shouldn't be a problem. Though at that momemt I didn't receive a contract yet so it was not clear what shouldn't be a problem: to write-in the third person in a contract or to have 3 registered persons in appartment for two.Today I was told that in principle three persons registered at the appartment for two can be a problem, but there should be an exemption for the Ukrainians. However, regarding the latter they said they are "not qualified to make a definite statement" and recoomended to make an appointment. Unfortunately, it will only be possible in January. I also called to Huurbalie, but today it is not possible to contact them by the phone.
My situation is urgent, because I received the contract only yesterday's evening and have to sign it tomorrow. Therefore I cannot really wait until there will be an appointment at the municipality. I really hope you can answer my following questions today.
